Canadian Opera Singer


Canadian soprano, Arianna Sovernigo, had the honor of participating in the movie and opera workshop for the new opera Fallujah for City Opera Vancouver, the Annenberg Foundation and filming by Opus 59 Films. She has performed with the likes of Manitoba Opera, Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova and Burnaby Lyric Opera. In a production of Carmen, ʺthe delicate and pure soprano of Arianna Sovernigo made for an exquisitely sung Micaëlaʺ.

In 2011, Miss Sovernigo made her Italian debut as Musetta (La Boheme) with Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova. Highlights from her repertoire include; Violetta Valery (La Traviata), Donna Anna and Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni), Juliette (Roméo et Juliette) and Liu (Turandot).

Equally comfortable on the concert stage, Miss Sovernigo was praised for being ʺpassionate and warm in her rapport with the audienceʺ. In 2012, she was the recipient of the Jeunes Ambassadeurs Concert Award and as a result, in 2013 performed several operatic concerts throughout China. Miss Sovernigo has appeared in recital across Canada and in Mexico, China, Italy, Austria, and the Czech Republic.

Adding to her credits, Miss Sovernigo placed 3rd in 2014 for the Magda Olivero Lirica Domani Competition (Milan, Italy) and in 2011 placed 2nd for the Concorso Internazionale per Cantanti Lirici (Alcamo, Italy) and 3rd for the Opera di Pienza Competition (Pienza, Italy), as well as, being named a Jeunes Ambassadeurs with Théâtre Lyrichorégra 20 (Montréal, Canada) for four years. She is a graduate of the Vancouver Academy of Music where she obtained her Bachelor of Music in opera performance. She has also attended the University of Manitoba Opera Apprenticeship and the Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova Opera Studio Ensemble.
